Publishers (Part 2)

Here you will find a list of publishing journals, magazines, and e-zines (online magazines) that work with fantasy writers. This list will continue to grow if/when I find more to add.

For this page, I have made two separate lists - ones that take submissions and ones that appear to no longer do so. Although I have been able to provide information for each publisher, you will need to go on their websites to read their full details. Quick note: if a publisher does not specify which countries they take submissions from, then my advice would be to assume they take international submissions (approach it with an if-you-don’t-ask-you-don’t-know mentality).

Not all publishers will have specific submissions periods (times when you can submit work to them), and some that no longer accept submissions may re-open in the future, therefore I would recommend checking each one from time to time just in case. If a publisher doesn’t state submissions period information at all, then I would suggest either assuming they are open to submissions all year or contacting the editor to confirm with them. In addition, a review period is exactly how it sounds: it is how long a publisher will take to confirm their acceptance or rejection of your work. Some publishers of shorter work will pay contributors if their works are accepted, so I have tried to include that information where possible.

I will try to keep these updated regarding when they are open or closed to submissions, but I may not do this as often as I want to due to other responsibilities. Therefore, please check each publishers’ website before submitting.
